# Justin, designer and engineer > Websites people remember, and automation that gives you your hours back. Open to a few small projects: websites, apps and automation. Contact by email: hello@justinthevoid.com. Justin designs and builds software end to end: the idea, the interface and the code underneath it. Most of it is built by Justin alone. Everything starts by email, and every project starts from a written, fixed-scope proposal. ## What Justin builds - Websites: Sites people remember and come back to: fast, easy to run, and built around what makes you different. - Automation: The repetitive work between your tools, done for you on a schedule, so the hours go back to the work you like. - Apps and tools: iPhone apps, browser extensions and small tools that do one job well. ## How Justin works - Local first: If it can run on your own machine, it should. Your files stay where they are, and nothing is uploaded that doesn’t need to be. - Objects, not templates: A site should feel like something: a television, a zine, a trip through space. I start from what the thing is, not from a layout I’ve used before. - Built beside the person it’s for: Petal was made with a teacher, and ShutterCoach around real photographs. A real Tuesday beats a persona. - Every layer: Interface, front end, back end, and the maths when it’s called for. This site computes its own sky. ## Questions ### What do you build? Open to a few small projects: websites, apps and automation. Websites: Sites people remember and come back to: fast, easy to run, and built around what makes you different. Automation: The repetitive work between your tools, done for you on a schedule, so the hours go back to the work you like. Apps and tools: iPhone apps, browser extensions and small tools that do one job well. ### How do I start a project? Email hello@justinthevoid.com. Say what you need, when you need it, and a rough budget; a few lines is plenty. You email what you need; I reply by email with questions. A written, fixed-scope proposal. I build it, and hand it over with everything you need to run it. ### How much does it cost? No fixed prices. Tell me the budget and I’ll say what fits. Every project starts from a written, fixed-scope proposal. ### Where can I see your work? Every project has a case study at justinthevoid.com/work/, including two demo sites made for fictional clients, Broadcast and Late Edition. ## Featured work - [Broadcast](https://justinthevoid.com/work/broadcast/): Demo website, 2026. A demo for a fictional client. A website for a fictional band, where a television is the interface. A remote changes the channel, teletext carries a live shipping forecast, and the tour dates flap on a departures board. - [Late Edition](https://justinthevoid.com/work/late-edition/): Demo website, 2026. A demo for a fictional client. A fictional pocket zine for people who work nights, read by turning pages: two-colour print, tabs you can tear, stickers you can peel, and a story folded into the middle. - [unæthered](https://justinthevoid.com/work/unaethered/): Website, 2026. A website for an anonymous AI image practice, where the homepage is a sampler: a prompt types itself, and the picture resolves out of noise as the sentence grows. - [Euclid](https://justinthevoid.com/work/euclid/): Tribute web app, 2026. Windows 98 and Windows XP rebuilt in the browser, switchable in place: a working desktop with Paint, Notepad, Minesweeper, Winamp, AIM and Clippy. - [ShutterCoach](https://justinthevoid.com/work/shuttercoach/): iPhone app, Chrome extension and website, 2025. A photography mentor that critiques the shot you took and teaches the next one. On the App Store. - [Solitaire Nook](https://justinthevoid.com/work/solitairenook/): iPhone game and website, 2026. Cozy pixel-art solitaire for iPhone, with a website that boots like a 1998 desktop. No ads, no tracking, no streak guilt. - [Recipe](https://justinthevoid.com/work/recipe/): Web tool, 2025. Converts Nikon picture controls to Lightroom presets and back, entirely in the browser. Nothing is uploaded. ## Also built - [Nightshift](https://justinthevoid.com/work/nightshift/): Agent platform, 2026. The night shift for a studio’s AI agents: one gateway and five departments of tools they all work through, and a control room where a person makes the final calls. - [xcforge](https://justinthevoid.com/work/xcforge/): Open-source developer tool, 2026. An MCP server and command-line tool that lets AI agents and terminals build, test, automate and diagnose iOS projects. - [Petal](https://justinthevoid.com/work/petal/): Web app, 2026. A day planner for fourth-grade teachers, with a view that is safe to put on the Smart Board. - [SafariBridge](https://justinthevoid.com/work/safaribridge/): iPhone and Chrome extensions, 2026. Brings your iPhone’s Safari tabs and history to Chrome on a Windows PC, encrypted so the relay in between can’t read them. ## More - [About](https://justinthevoid.com/about/): who Justin is, what can be built for you, how the work is done, and the toolbox - [All work](https://justinthevoid.com/work/): every project on one page - [Full case studies in plain text](https://justinthevoid.com/llms-full.txt) - [GitHub](https://github.com/justinthevoid)
